INDUSTRIAL

CENTRALIZED FIELD EQUIPMENT FACILITY, Horicon, WI

This project provided a new 8,400 SF unheated pole-style metal building used for storage of field equipment including trailers, boats and implements currently stored in numerous other locations through Dodge and Fon du Lac counties.   The new building provided indoor secure storage for equipment in a centralized location.  A secure heated room was also provided to store pesticides and herbicides that could not be stored in an unheated building.  Daylight to the building was provided at strip windows near the eave lines of the roof.  This project also demolished several obsolete wood frame buildings previously used for storage.  The project was an excellent example of coordination and cooperation between the DFD, DNR, the AE team, and the contractor.

CONSTRUCT EQUIPMENT BUILDING, Fitchburg, WI

This project provided a new 10,800 SF Fisheries and Water Quality Boat and Equipment Building at the Nevin Fish  Hatchery in Fitchburg.  The state-of-the-art facility will allow DNR staff to maintain equipment in clean, disinfected, and ready to use condition.  Designed to meet the needs of three distinct functions, the building contains a disinfection garage bay, an equipment repair and laboratory space, and an unheated equipment storage area.  The building also contains men’s and women’s restrooms, a fish cleaning station and a mechanical equipment room.  The building also replaces four separate buildings on the site that have all reached the end of their useful life.  A shallow foundation was designed for the building to prevent chemicals used in concrete from contaminating groundwater that would be harmful to fish raised at the hatchery.  The project was an excellent example of coordination and cooperation between the DFD, DNR, the AE team, and the contractor.
