The assigned National Guard unit at the Waupaca Readiness Center was designated to respond as ordered to “Winter Storm Response Operations”.  To do so safely and efficiently, the Readiness Center required an MVSB.  A 10,000 square foot structure was designed to accommodate twelve vehicles that required protection from snow events. The added vehicle winter  protection shortened emergency response times.  The building was constructed of brick veneer and concrete block cavity walls, steel joist and metal deck roof structure with a standing seem metal roof.  The building was not sprinklered or heated but was ventilated as required by code.  Power and lighting for servicing the vehicles was also included.  An 8” thick reinforced concrete floor, required to support heavy vehicles, was pitched to the overhead doors to facilitate cleaning.
