This unique project replaced the existing sprung resilient running track at the Klotsche Center Field House at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The Field House facilities include a wood strip center basketball court with a surrounding resilient running track, both of which share a sprung substrate. Removal of the existing track was detailed in a manner that left the sprung substrate under the wood court intact and undisturbed. Construction of the new sprung substrate for the track replacement was fully and continuously integrated into the remaining wood court substrate, with the new track surface installed flush with the existing wood court. The new track surface is ASBA Class 3 Certified to be in conformance with NCAA Rule 1 Standards and in conformance with IAAF Track Facilities Requirements. Adjacent practice courts, field event facilities, and associated equipment and standards were also replaced, along with refinishing of the wood floor and the entire space, giving the 40 year old field house a bright, updated appearance utilizing the current School colors and graphics scheme.
